Ten Years Later

Since I am into decades at the moment, here is one from 2006. This was written at the end of that year (and the end of a seven-year marriage), but I find it quite hopeful as a beginning.

2006     

Strength

borne of wondering

   Children

resilient with undying

   Love

In spite of unsettling

       Grief

         the silent thief of   

                    Light

       once scattered in

                Hope

now carried as plea for

                      Peace

embraced by wavering

                                         Faith

                             sustained by unsteady

                                      Flight

                           on the fragile wings of

                                    Change

                                 at the feet of

                              Gratitude

                                 In the face of

                           Amazement

            and the eyes of

                               Mercy

          continuing breath to

                             Breath

           from birth to death, and birth again

                        Alive
